Learn how Eastside Co created a Shopify Plus store and deployed a marketing strategy to achieve amazing results for an online e-scooter brand. We increased monthly visits by an incredible 3,550% and drove a corresponding sales growth of over 4,600%.
Pure Scooters is a specialist electric scooter retailer, revolutionising the micro-mobility industry and delivering the best and safest e-scooters. Ambitious sales plans required a fresh online presence to engage with its target audience, while showcasing its range of scooters and accessories. The time was right for a new website and marketing strategy from the right ecommerce partner - one which would enable Pure Scooters to blaze a trail and exceed its ambitious sales targets.
Eastside Co was the perfect choice to execute this vision for Pure Scooters.
With a thorough understanding of the brand strategy and target audience we implemented a ‘discover, convince, convert’ approach for the site: help people discover the brand at the research stage, give them clear information, and demonstrate that Pure Scooters is the best destination for e-scooters and accessories.
The client looked to ESC to solve the challenges on their behalf: as e-scooter industry pioneers with no comparable competitor following a similar path, there was no blueprint for success - so we created a roadmap based on the brand’s goals and ambitions.
The power of social proof can’t be underestimated. With this in mind, we incorporated a video review area: videos are more engaging than text, helping keep visitors on site longer and increasing the likelihood of a sale. In addition, displaying at least 5 online reviews can increase conversions by up to 380% - so we implemented Trustpilot to show shoppers that Pure Scooters were the best in their field.
We wanted to make it as easy as possible for customers to buy. Our strategy included the implementation of Klarna on site to encourage sales by offering ‘buy now pay later’ options so customers can split payments into installments.
As a relatively new brand, it was imperative that a robust and creative marketing strategy was deployed to grow the Pure Scooters audience, increase engagement and ensure sales increased.
To ensure social media posts were meaningful and gained traction, we used a combination of conversation and community engagement, customer acquisition, remarketing and conversation. This meant social media became a key channel, growing Pure Scooters’ presence.
Our organic Facebook strategy generated an increase of 49,600% page likes, 14 million impressions, over 300,000 engagements and 192,000 video views - putting Pure Scooters in front of a huge new audience.
We created and managed Facebook ad campaigns to reach new audiences and remarket to those who had already shown an interest in the products. This strategy generated thousands of sales through the website, with a low cost per acquisition, bringing in more than ten times the amount of revenue than was spent on the ads.
Through our Twitter management, we kept followers up to date with new product launches and promos, product information, invested in community engagement and utilised superb imagery to generate 143,000 organic impressions and over 3,400 engagements.
Our PPC Specialists created and ran PPC and Google Shopping campaigns, to drive awareness of the Pure Scooters brand and direct quality traffic to the site. Through optimisation of the ads, we drove over 461,000 clicks to the site, hugely increasing the brand audience. Over 5,000 sales were generated by the paid ad campaigns with a very healthy cost per acquisition.
To complement the paid marketing activity, our Shopify SEO experts got to work on the site to maximise organic traffic, as well as deploying off-site SEO tactics. The result? Over a six month period we increased organic clicks by over 800% and impressions by 1,000%. Our SEO efforts also meant Pure ranked #2 on Google for one of their main products, outranking huge competitor sites like Halfords and Amazon.
To increase the average spend per customer, we implemented Cart Convert, our app which makes intelligent product recommendations to customers, based on the items they’ve shown an interest in. So, for example, if someone purchases a scooter, it makes sense that they may also buy a helmet or lock.
