With their Magento contract expiring, Zipvit chose to move the whole business to Shopify Plus. The brief was a full re-platform, redesign and rebuild, with one goal underneath it, to take friction out of the buying journey and make the store easier to run.

We migrated Zipvit inside a fixed window, rebuilding product discovery, the product page, subscriptions and the cart. Subscribers moved to Recharge and the catalogue was restructured to Shopify's native variants. It launched on schedule, faster, simpler and built for the team to run themselves.

The Brand

Zipvit is a British vitamins and supplements brand with a long history in nutritional health. Their range runs from everyday multivitamins to targeted formulations, sold direct to UK consumers with subscription central to how customers buy. The business runs on Brightpearl, with the Health Hub providing nutrition guidance and product education.

The Challenge

Magento setup was holding the business back in a few specific ways.

  • Platform on the clock: With the Magento 2 contract approaching expiry, Zipvit needed a considered move to a new platform rather than another renewal.

  • Friction in the buying journey: Collection pages, product pages and cart had accumulated friction at the exact points where a supplements shopper chooses pack size, format and frequency.

  • A confusing subscription flow: Customers were asked how many tablets they took per day, blurring product size and delivery frequency and making the decision harder than it needed to be.

  • Built for the old platform: Packaging choice sat awkwardly inside the checkout, and product data structured around Magento needed remapping to Shopify’s native variants. A live subscriber base also had to move with no disruption to billing or deliveries.

Future Proofing 

The brief was to re-platform Zipvit onto Shopify Plus and use the move to fix the friction, not simply lift and shift the old store. That meant a bespoke build, a redesigned journey from homepage to cart, subscriptions rebuilt around delivery frequency, and a catalogue restructured around Shopify’s native capabilities, all on a platform the team could own day to day with far less reliance on developers.

Our Focus

A simpler path to purchase: The redesign focused on product discovery, the product page and the cart. Collection pages gained Shopify 2.0 filtering, including health-led filters. Quick-add lets customers buy without leaving the collection, packaging became a simple variant choice alongside pack size, and bespoke content sections explain benefits, ingredients and directions.

Subscriptions that make sense: We rebuilt subscriptions on Recharge around one decision, how often the product arrives. Dropping the tablets-per-day step took the guesswork out of subscribing, while existing subscribers moved across without losing their plans or deliveries.

A migration built on collaboration: We planned the data migration in detail before moving anything, mapping products, customers and historical orders into Shopify. The Health Hub was recreated with article tagging in place of blog categories, keeping the content engine intact.

Built to run independently: Zipvit launched on a fast, scalable theme built on our own Shopify framework. Brightpearl connects inventory through its official connector, Trustpilot handles reviews, and content runs on metafields and metaobjects the team controls. The store was handed over with the documentation and access to run it independently.

The Impact

The migration moved Zipvit onto a modern, scalable Shopify Plus operation and resolved the friction that had built up on Magento. The buying journey is now faster and clearer, from health-led filtering through to a product page where pack size, packaging and frequency are simple choices rather than obstacles.

Subscriptions are easier to understand and manage, and active subscribers moved to Recharge without disruption. With the supporting stack integrated and content under their own control, Zipvit has come off a platform that demanded constant developer input and onto one built to grow on, with Klaviyo lined up to extend lifecycle marketing after launch.

Business Outcomes

The effect on organic performance since launch has been considerable. Measured against the same period last year, the new store has driven a 210% increase in organic search revenue, alongside a 153% rise in total users and a 225% increase in new users. Engagement rate climbed 88% over the same window. The sharp growth in new users points to stronger reach and visibility, reflecting the combined effect of the bespoke build, the faster store and the SEO migration protection built in from the start.
