The Brand
When Phil Vickery was thinking about what to call his sportswear company, Raging Bull was an obvious choice, after the nickname he acquired in his rugby career. Strong and distinctive with a clear sense of identity, it’s a powerful and positive brand name.
Founded in 2003 after England’s World Cup win, Raging Bull was conceived as a sportswear brand supplying playing kits to grassroots rugby clubs. In 2007 it broadened into the lifestyle sector, building a brand around high-quality, design-led clothing.

The Challenge
Raging Bull was limited by its incumbent legacy platform, which the ecommerce team was unable to update and amend for fear of breaking it. In addition, there was also no possibility to develop on the existing platform, including adding basic functionalities such as tracking or attribution.
The team made the decision to migrate to Shopify, and they needed to replatform quickly and efficiently to improve stability and performance. They chose to partner with Eastside Co to achieve these objectives.
The Solution

The new store looks great, is lightning fast thanks to clean code and integrates easily with third party technology for enhanced functionality. For example, the Raging Bull site integrated the ReBound returns app to make the returns process smart, scalable, and simple.
Accelerating Brand Growth Through SEO
Our SEO team were involved with the project throughout - a site migration is a delicate process and it's important to make sure the new site maintains the visibility and equity of the old one. Our team ensured that not only was performance kept steady, but that the SEO results improved hugely. Within 3 months of launching, the brand saw amazing SEO growth and began to rank for some massive terms - including position 2 for the very broad term 'polo shirts', which has 29,000 monthly searches.
Post-launch, Raging Bull continues to go from strength to strength - and now has the opportunity to gain even more momentum on the Shopify platform. The combined power of Shopify with our custom build has created the foundation for ongoing and continuous growth for Raging Bull.
