If you want to try Shopify before committing to a payment plan, you can sign up for a free 14 day trial. This trial starts when you sign up - not when you start working on your store. You can’t sell products on your store during the free trial - you’ll need to choose and move onto a monthly plan.
You can set up your store during the free trial, but in order to start selling you’ll need to choose and move onto a monthly plan.
If you haven’t chosen a payment plan when the 14 day trial ends, you don’t need to do anything. Your account will be frozen and you won’t be charged when the trial expires.
It might be that you’re still working on your store and aren’t quite ready to launch at the end of the 14 days. If you're looking to extend your free trial, email support@shopify.com before it ends so the team there can review your request directly. Also, be sure to use the account owner email and include which .myshopify.com account you'd like them to review.
This is no longer available - the free trial is 14 days. However, you can contact Shopify directly at support@shopify.com before your trial ends and ask them to extend it for you.
