Support for Small Businesses In a Time of Global Crisis
Businesses around the world, whether bricks and mortar or ecommerce stores on Shopify or other platforms, may be experiencing disruptions resulting from the global outbreak of COVID-19. However, to help ease the burden on businesses, Facebook has this week announced it is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits to help during this extraordinary time.
Who Is Eligible?
Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries where Facebook operates. They will share more details as they become available, and we will update this blog post when further announcements are made.
How Can This Help The Wider Business Community?
The money and support that Facebook is making available will help businesses keep their employees and avoid potential redundancies. It will help with rent and operational costs, and ad credits will help companies connect with more customers to drive more income.
Although Facebook has not yet announced any more details, it will soon be taking applications for the grants. Sign up to receive more information about what the next steps are.
A new Business Resource Hub also provides additional resources for companies to help them prepare for and manage disruptions like the one we are facing right now.
At Eastside Co, we are continuing to work through the crisis and are here to help businesses continue to be successful in ecommerce. If you're one of them and need our support for design, development, marketing or ecommerce strategy advice, get in touch.
